Description

Hungry critters keep arriving, and each one will take up space and won't leave until you feed them!  Draw a path from each animal to the food it east before the board gets too cluttered!

Each animal plays differently:

  • Rabbits are super fast!
  • Turtles are slow and get in the way of the other critters.
  • Tigers only eat meat!
  • Llamas are slow grazers, they take time to eat their veggies.
  • Goats eat veggies and meat, so they can steal another critter's dinner. :(

Clear the whole board to beat the round. Each round brings more critters, and new kinds of animals join as you advance.

In relaxed mode, there is no timer and you are able to play at your own pace!

How to Play

  • Drag an animal to its food and it will start moving.
  • Once an animal is moving along its path, no other animal can cross it.
  • Animals wait in the stack before they jump onto the board. Tap them to let them come early.
  • If the board fills, you have 5 seconds to make room. Run out of time and the run is over

Plays with mouse or touch, on desktop or phone.

Features

  • 5 critters, each moving and eating in its own way.
  • Each critter has its own music that combine to form a unique medley
  • Rounds that build up gently, but get more chaotic as you play
  • For accessibility, there is a gentle effects toggle in menu, automatically enabled on mobile devices with Reduced Motion.
  • Works on phones!
  • Loads in moments (game is ~2 mb!)

Music Showcase

Here's a showcase of the music increasing in complexity as the board fills with unique animals:

Jam Considerations

  • Theme
    • The game is built around the idea of clearing out clutter from the board!
    • The music itself gets "cluttered" as more animals join the board. The composition of the music is based on what animals are on the board, from the violin of the rabbit to the trumpet of the tiger and the banjo of the goat.
  • Originality
    • The game is not just about emptying space, there's also a time element where the player has to consider how long the animal will take to walk its path and eat.
    • Each of the animals introduces a new layer to how the base mechanic plays, introducing a little bit of complex thinking for the player on top of the reflex gameplay.
  • Fun
    • The cute animals and their funny and satisfying sounds engage the player into frantically trying to feed them before space runs out.
    • My friend's mom played it for 30 minutes! (I had to take the phone away from her eventually)
    • With relaxed mode, players of multiple different skill levels can enjoy the game.
  • Arkadium-ready
    • It's a short, casual puzzle game that players can learn how to play at a glance, with almost no text involved.
    • Its easy to learn, difficult to master, as the game gets dynamically harder the better it senses the player performing.
    • The game works on mobile and browser and uses dynamic loading to allow the player to start playing immediately.
  • Polish
    • The game is full of juice and effects to enhance the experience.
    • During development we kept noticing minor pain points (trying to draw from food to animal, barely moving our thumb/cursor off a tile, etc.) and fixing them to provide a better player experience.
